Klahanie Pet Policy

Household pets must be leashed and kept under the control of the owner at all times. It is the law!  Pets are also not permitted inside the fenced area at the Klahanie Pools.

Out of consideration for your neighbors, please do not permit your pet to roam unleashed within Klahanie and please clean up after your pet if he or she leaves something behind while visiting the parks, play-grounds or common areas and trails!

Barking dogs can keep your neighbors up at night and are a nuisance at any time. Please help teach your pet to respect your neighbors.

Neighborhood Watch Update as of april 2010:

Car break ins and thefts from garages are occurring in Klahanie.  The King County Sheriff's Department has asked the Klahanie Association to ask all Klahanie residents to make sure that your garage doors are closed, especially at night.  All vehicles either in your driveway, on the street or in your garages are locked and all valuables are removed, not just out of sight.  Thieves are entering open garage doors and if your car is unlocked it gives them easy access and plenty of time to help themselves to anything in your vehicle.  They are also removing any other items that interest them from the garages.  Leaving the doors open at night makes your home a target for thieves.   If you have an incident at your home please call 911 or 206 296-3311 and NOT the Klahanie office.  The Sheriff's Department needs to know that an incident has taken place and they can then investigate it as needed.

What to do in an emergency: If you have an emergency while at home or anywhere call 911. Explain your emergency, the 911 dispatcher may be in another city or country. Enhanced 911 centers means that when you call 911 from a hard line phone and in some cases a cell phone, the dispatcher's screen displays the location from which you are calling. The 911 dispatcher then routes your emergency to the appropriate emergency number and service provider that services your particular emergency and location. Do not call Klahanie courtesy officer or the Klahanie office during an emergency, call 911 immediately! Calling the office to have someone call 911 will only confuse and delay emergency services, call 911.
