The Board Corner

Hello community!

The new 2025 Association Board has been seated, and we want to update you on Board and Committee activities.

First, we want to thank you for taking the time to vote in the past election.  In case you haven’t heard, we had 1933 owners vote, a nearly 63% response, which was the highest vote tally in many years. This Board and the newly elected members take the direction received from you for additional transparency, voting rights, and being fiscally responsible very seriously. We serve you, the community, and we will do our best to represent you.

We want to share a few highlights from the March Board meeting. We are replacing the building and special projects (BSP) committee with a new committee titled “Renew Klahanie”. This committee’s purpose is to look at our current infrastructure, including the KHOA office, and get information and bids to keep these assets safe and useful for the future. We will continue to update you and solicit your feedback on these projects over time. This committee is also about renewing the relationship of the Board with the community in terms of transparency and involvement.

Another critical mandate for the new Board involves moving forward with conducting an in-depth review of bylaw 4.6.17.  During the March Board meeting, a motion was passed to establish a committee that will examine the 2023 changes to this bylaw.  This committee will provide options to restore homeowners’ rights to approve borrowing, pledging, or assigning future income by the Board.

The Board is also in the process of reviewing all current Committee Charters, membership, and expected deliverables. The committee looking at the charters will help ensure a future of Klahanie where we are open and inclusive and deliver results. If you’re interested in joining any of the committees, please review the committee charters, which will be uploaded to the Resident Portal, attend one meeting, and then fill out an application on the Klahanie website by clicking here.

Again, thank you for caring enough about our community to show up and vote in the past election!
